Three group standard seminars, including the General Technical Requirements for Valve Status Management in Intelligent Operation and Maintenance Nuclear Power Plants, were successfully held at the Shanghai Power Station Valve Factory

On March 31, 2025, Shanghai Power Station Valve Factory successfully held three group standard seminars: "General Technical Requirements for Intelligent Operation and Maintenance of Valve Status Management in Nuclear Power Plants", "Color Printing and Optical Inspection of Sealing Performance of Valve Sealing Surfaces in Nuclear Power Plants", and "Technical Guidelines for Valve Packing Maintenance in Pressurized Water Reactor Nuclear Power Plants". This conference gathered multiple experts, scholars, and business representatives from the domestic nuclear power field, aiming to improve the technical standards related to nuclear power plant valves through in-depth discussions and exchanges, and provide technical support for the sustainable development of the nuclear power industry.

The seminar was officially launched in the morning, chaired by Lu Qi from Qinshan Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. Lu Qi first warmly welcomed the attending leaders and experts, and briefly introduced the background and importance of this seminar. The smooth holding of this conference has received strong support from the China International Association for the Promotion of Science and Technology, led by China National Nuclear Power Operation and Management Co., Ltd. and China National Nuclear Operation and Maintenance Technology Co., Ltd., as well as active participation from multiple universities and research institutes, ensuring the comprehensiveness and authority of the standard preparation.

The attendees of this conference include Zheng Hualin, Director of the Standardization Working Committee of the China International Association for the Promotion of Science and Technology, Huang Mingya, Secretary General of the National Valve Standardization Technical Committee, Guo Xiaofang from China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd., Zhou Du, Chief Valve Expert of China General Nuclear Power Group Co., Ltd., Lin Maolong, Chairman of Shanghai Power Station Valve Factory Co., Ltd., Zhu Yuefeng, Dean of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing at Kaifeng University, and representatives from all walks of life. In addition, the leaders of the drafting teams for the three standards, including Mou Yang, Vice General Manager of CNNC Operation and Maintenance Technology Co., Ltd., Yang Heng, Vice President of Shanghai General Machinery Industry Association, and Xu Lingfeng, Vice Dean of the School of Valve Industry at Kaifeng University, also attended the seminar.

The first part of the morning meeting proceeded smoothly. Lin Maolong, Chairman of Shanghai Power Station Valve Factory, Huang Mingya, Secretary General of the National Valve Standardization Technical Committee, and Zheng Hualin, Director of the Standardization Working Committee of the China International Association for the Promotion of Science and Technology, delivered speeches successively, expressing their high attention to this seminar and support for standardization work.

In the subsequent stage, Mou Yang, Deputy General Manager of CNNC Operation and Maintenance Technology Co., Ltd., provided a detailed introduction to the background, objectives, and implementation path of the three standards, analyzed the specific content of each standard in depth, and conducted an in-depth analysis of the content of the "General Technical Requirements for Valve Status Management of Intelligent Operation and Maintenance Nuclear Power Plants". He extensively solicited opinions and suggestions from experts present, providing valuable ideas for the improvement of the standards.

The afternoon meeting was divided into three parts, with the focus shifting to the specific content of the other two standards. Yang Heng, the leader of the writing team for the "Technical Guidelines for Valve Packing Maintenance in Pressurized Water Reactor Nuclear Power Plants", shared the technical requirements in the standard and provided a detailed interpretation of the maintenance methods and technical specifications for valve packing to ensure the efficiency and safety of maintenance work. Xu Lingfeng, the leader of the drafting team for the standard "Color Printing and Optical Inspection of Sealing Performance of Valve Sealing Surfaces in Nuclear Power Plants", led the attendees to discuss in detail the testing methods for sealing performance, and introduced the application of advanced color printing technology and optical inspection technology in nuclear power valve management, ensuring the reliability and long-term stability of valve sealing surfaces.

After a long period of discussion and exchange, the attending experts unanimously agreed that these three standards will provide important guidance for valve operation, maintenance, inspection, and management in the nuclear power industry, and improve the operational safety and efficiency of nuclear power plant valves. Finally, the attendees moved to Shanghai Power Station Valve Factory for a visit and learned about the company's technical strength in valve research and manufacturing.

This conference not only strengthened the discussion and formulation of valve standards in the nuclear power industry, but also provided an important communication platform for all parties in the industry. The attendees expressed that they will continue to promote the implementation and optimization of standards in the future, and jointly promote the technological progress and safety management level improvement of the nuclear power industry.
